Member Refund & Cancellation Policy

What you agree to when you join a community and buy a ticket.

Last updated July 2026

When you buy a ticket, product or service through MyPeople, you are buying it from your community rather than from us. This policy explains how refunds and cancellations work, and what you are entitled to.

1. Who handles your refund

Your community is the seller, so refunds and cancellations are handled by them. Where your community has published its own refund policy, that policy applies to what you buy from them.

Where your community has not published its own policy, the terms below apply.

2. Cancelling an event ticket

You may cancel a ticket up to 14 days before the event and receive a refund, less a reasonable cancellation charge to cover costs already incurred.

Cancellations closer to the event may not be refundable, as the community will usually have committed to costs by then.

3. Where the community cancels or changes an event

If your community cancels an event, or changes it materially — the date, the venue, or what is being offered — you are entitled to a full refund.

4. Products and goods

If something you have bought is not delivered, is defective, or is not as described, you are entitled to a remedy under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

Digital items, or items consumed immediately on purchase, may not be refundable once used.

5. Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act

Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where this policy and the Act differ, the Act applies.

6. How to request a refund

Contact your community directly. They handle the refund as the seller.

If you cannot reach them, contact us at bens@analogueventures.co.za and we will help put you in touch — but the decision rests with your community.
