Everything it does, and what it will not do.
33 things, in five groups. Most communities use a handful of them and switch the rest off. Nothing here is a roadmap: it is all built, and it is all running for somebody today.
- Included
- In the Standard plan. Switch it on when you want it.
- Add-on
- Priced separately. The rates are on the pricing section.
- We set this up with you
- Not a toggle. These touch money, private documents or somebody else’s staff, so we set them up together.
Communicate
Both products:MyPeople CommunityMyPeople Workplace
Say something once and know it arrived, without anyone having to scroll for it.
News your community reads
IncludedPost an update to everyone. People can comment, and you can pin the ones that should stay at the top. It is a noticeboard, not a feed that reorders itself while somebody is reading it.
A notification to every phone, with a confirm step that means it
We set this up with youWrite it, and before anything is sent the server tells you exactly how many people it will reach. There is a daily limit. Between 21:00 and 07:00 it offers to send at 07:00 instead of waking everyone up. You can see everything you have sent, and cancel one you scheduled.
Email that comes from you
IncludedYour sender name and your own address. Pick everyone, one group, or the people coming to a particular event. Save an audience you keep reusing, save a template, send yourself a test first. The send button does not send: it asks you to confirm the subject and the exact number of people.
More on thisThree emails that send themselves
IncludedA welcome when someone joins, a reminder before an event, and a note to people you have not seen in a while. Set them up once.
More on thisLogin codes and updates over WhatsApp
Add-onReach people where they already are. Where WhatsApp is not available for someone, their code goes by email instead, per person, without anybody having to choose.
Rewards and perks
Both products:MyPeople CommunityMyPeople Workplace
Recognise the people who turn up, and make the membership worth paying for.
Partner offers and member benefits
We set this up with youReal offers from real partners, in the app. It needs a budget and the partner side arranged before anything can appear, so we do that with you rather than leaving an empty section in front of your members.
Points for the things you want more of
We set this up with youYou decide what earns: coming to an event, finishing a course, bringing somebody in. The rules are yours and you can change them when they turn out to be rewarding the wrong thing.
A ladder people can climb
We set this up with youSet the thresholds and what each tier is called. Points carry from one period into the next, so nobody goes back to zero because a quarter ended.
A gift a person approves
We set this up with youNothing is issued automatically. A reward is requested, somebody approves or refuses it, and then somebody issues it. Three steps, because a gift that goes out on its own is the one you end up apologising for.
A perk that unlocks when somebody earns it
We set this up with youGate an offer on a tier, on having been to an event, on being in a group, or on having confirmed a policy.
Learning
Both products:MyPeople CommunityMyPeople Workplace
The policies people have to read, and the things you want them to know.
Required reading, and proof it was read
IncludedWrite the policy, publish it at a version, and see who has not confirmed it yet. The confirmation is attached to the exact wording that was on screen, so the record says something a year later.
You decide whether a change means people read it again
IncludedWhen you edit a policy we ask one question, and we ask it in terms of what happens to people rather than by the name of a setting: does everybody confirm again, or do the confirmations you already have still stand. Fixing a typo is not the same as changing what somebody agreed to.
A list of who has not read it, as a spreadsheet
IncludedFor one policy, or for all of them at once.
Require it of one group rather than everyone
IncludedThe safety policy for the warehouse, not for the whole company.
Courses, one module at a time
IncludedModules in order, each confirmed before the next opens. A question at the end of a module, and somewhere to write a reflection in their own words.
Points when somebody finishes
IncludedA course can carry a reward. Once it has been awarded it is never taken back, including when you go back and correct the course afterwards.
A follow-up that arrives later
IncludedAsk a question a set number of days after somebody finishes, when what they learned has either stuck or it has not.
Build the course yourself
IncludedWrite the modules, put them in order, preview it the way a member will see it, then publish. Once a course is published its syllabus is fixed: changing which modules it contains means a new course, because a completion record should describe the thing that was actually completed.
People and HR
Only in:MyPeople Workplace
For workplaces. It reads the systems you already run rather than asking you to move off them.
A reporting line, and an org chart off it
IncludedWho reports to whom, once, and then the chart, the approvals and the team screens all key off the same answer.
Leave requests and approvals
IncludedRequest, approve, decline, and keep balances. Worth saying plainly: most companies already run leave in their HR system, and we would rather read theirs than give your staff a second place to book the same day off. This is here for the ones who want it.
Read-only sync with the HR system you already run
We set this up with youBambooHR today. You agree the field mapping, you see a dry run before anything is written, and there is a list of fields we will never fetch at all, which is code with a test behind it rather than a sentence in a contract. We only ever read, and we never write back.
Leave balances and who is out, read live from your HR system
We set this up with youEach person sees their own annual balance. Managers see who is away. The leave type is never shown to anybody, because on sick leave next to a colleague's name on a team screen is health information about that colleague.
Work anniversaries and new starters
We set this up with youBoth arrive on the weekly digest that already goes out, so nobody has a new thing to remember to check.
Mentorship
IncludedCohorts, a questionnaire, a shortlist and pairing, and then a thread between the two people.
Admin and brand
Both products:MyPeople CommunityMyPeople Workplace
It should look like your community and read in your words, because it is yours.
Arrange your own Home
IncludedPut a notice, a banner, a button or a grid of quick links on the Home screen, alongside the fourteen cards already there. Each block has a size, an audience, and dates to appear and disappear between. You preview it the way a member will see it before you publish.
Rename anything
IncludedAround forty words. If your people are colleagues, or members, or alumni, call them that. You see the change on a mock of the real tab bar before you save it, because fourteen characters is where a tab label stops fitting on a phone.
Switch features on yourself
IncludedWhere it is safe to, there is a switch. Where it is not, there is a sentence saying why, instead of a greyed-out button that tells you nothing.
Groups with their own people, organisers and events
IncludedA committee, a year group, a department, a chapter. Each with its own roster and its own organiser, who can run it without being an admin of everything.
A public page at your own address
IncludedYour logo, your colour, your events, and nothing at all about your members. It refreshes itself from the same events the app shows, and you can leave it switched off.
More on thisYour own domain
IncludedA community that would rather have its own web address than a page on ours can have one.
A private vault for the documents that matter
We set this up with youContracts, payslips, IDs. Electronic signing, and fill-in fields sealed into the signed copy. The storage rules underneath it are not something we can check from a screen, and for files like these we would rather verify by hand before switching it on.
Sell tickets, and sell things
Add-onPaid events and a storefront, both with payments built in. Commission applies on transactions, and it is on the pricing page rather than in a footnote.
More on thisTwo products, one price
IncludedMyPeople Community for networks, associations, alumni and member communities. MyPeople Workplace for companies, which starts with the reporting line, the policies people confirm and groups already switched on. Same setup fee, same monthly: the difference is what is on when you start, and you can change any of it afterwards.
More on this
You will not use all of it, and that is the point.
A membership network and a company want a different half of this list. Tell us which one you are and we will switch on the part that is yours.
